Pattern Play Collection
The inspiration for this pattern was Brancusi's Endless Column series. I love how the interlocking shapes have an undulating quality. The shapes in the fabric were printed using stamps of transparent ink to give a mottled quality. By staggering the rows a zig-zag negative space is created and adds even more depth and play to the pattern.
In The Loop
In the Loop is a 3 color print with a decidedly retro feel. It's consists of 2 different color hand-painted squiggles which interlap in a random structure. Its a playful yet sophisticated pattern which would work beautifully for draperies as well as upholstery and wall panels.
Damask patterns tend to be some of the most formal and traditional fabrics in the market. The Studio B interpretation is much friendlier due to the loose drawing and painted technique used to achieve the forms. The bright colorways tend to make it more whimsical while the subtle colorways bring out the sophisticated charm.
Off The Radar
This is a small scale pattern based on handpainted linework and diamond shapes. The overall pattern is loosely influenced on interlocking circles. The colorations are designed to work with some of the patterns in this collection as well as fabrics from previous collections.
